Jeffrey Nelson's Forknife

Jeffrey Nelson over at MacPod.net has used a T-Mobile G1 as the brains, of sorts, in a new robot (of sorts).  Jeffrey calls his Android/Robot love-child Forknife, for somewhat obvious reasons.

Forknife doesn’t do much but move around and wave his plasticware appendages at this point, but it’s still kinda cool.

Jeffrey wrote an Android based app, RoboComm, that interfaces with a server based controller that he calls RoboServ.

He was also nice enough to provide the source code so that other people can try their hand at building similar systems.  You’ll find more information at MacPod.net.
