T-Mobile G1 pre-order customers losing data services

It seems that at least some people that pre-ordered the T-Mobile G1 were treated to a week of free data access.  The down side?  Well, that week is over for the first group of pre-order folks, and it seems that instead of just continuing the data service as a paid add-on, T-Mobile has been turning off data on those accounts – and leaving users in a bit of a lurch.

All you have to do is logon to the my.t-mobile.com website and add data back to your account, though.  Or, if you prefer more personal service (and waiting on hold), you can dial 611 from your phone to speak with a rep.
