Rumors have been swirling about Google’s next update to the Android OS, 3.0 Gingerbread. We have heard that the release would come in Q4 and now we have something even more specific, a mid-October release date, possibly the 15th or 16th.
Other details from Rumor Czar Eldar Murtazin Russian podcast include a revamped UI (user interface), new 1280×760 resolution availability for devices with 4-inch displays or higher, 1GHz CPU minimum, and a possible split of Android; 3.0 for high end devices and 2.1/2.2 for the masses. I guess we will just have to wait and see if this new info is true.
