Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 delayed in stores by ‘inventory challenges’
The Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 launch is facing some unexpected issues, with the carrier announcing that it won’t be able to have the smartphone available “in stores and other channels” on Saturday, as promised.
The statement, quoted by AllThingsD, can be read in its entirety below, and it blames “unexpected inventory challenges from Samsung” for the delay customers will be facing.

The announcement comes shortly after the carrier announced it sold out its initial Galaxy S4 pre-order batch. On the other hand, it’s good to see that you can still order the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 through website and Telesales on the planned date.
What’s interesting is that T-Mobile has also announced a delay in Samsung Galaxy S4 availability, the reason quoted there being a similar one, “an unexpected delay with inventory deliveries.” In that case, though, it’s online sales that are suffering.
It’s pretty hard to imagine Samsung suffering the kind of component shortages that HTC faced a while ago, so these problems should be solved soon enough.
