Sprint HTC Hero and Samsung Moment to skip Android 2.0, head straight to 2.1

sprint-twitter-android21We are happy to report that the rumor about the Sprint HTC Hero and the Samsung Moment getting updated to Android 2.0 in the first half of 2010 was incorrect. Straight from Sprint’s official twitter account is the confirmation that the Hero and the Moment will be updated to Android 2.1, skipping right over Android 2.0. The date for this update is still set for the rather broad time frame of the first half of 2010 but we will continue to hold out hope that these updates drop sooner rather than later.

I just got my HTC Hero yesterday, and that is great news to hear! I don’t mind the current Android OS at all. It is fairly intuitive and easy to learn. It’s also quite a bonus that it is apparently Linux-based, which means more FREE and useful apps will be available for it!

My only complaint with the Hero is its complete lack of a physical keyboard, but I’m dealing with it ok…
