Sprint to start selling HTC EVO 4G LTE on May 18, stores to open at 8 AM

The HTC EVO 4G  LTE saga is about to come to a sweet conclusion, as Sprint will finally have the phone for sale starting May 18. If you’re a firm believer that those who come the earliest to the store will get to gloat the most, Sprint has posted some details on store locations that will carry the phone, as well as their opening hours, which will make your mission easier to accomplish.

According to information posted on its website, the following Sprint stores will open on May 18 at 8AM, with sales of the HTC EVO 4G LTE set to commence straight away. So there’s hopefully time to snatch one on your way to work. As for the locations of the stores, Sprint has listed the following:

  • Southern California
  • Northern California
  • New York
  • D.C. Metropolitan Area
  • Colorado
  • Washington
  • Massachusetts
  • Miami
  • Georgia
  • Texas

The HTC EVO 4G LTE, otherwise known as the HTC One X with a red kick-stand, packs a bigger 2,000mAh battery.  The 4.7-inch HD Super LCD screen is complemented by a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, 8MP rear camera with LED flash and autofocus, 1.3MP front camera, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, and microSD card slot. On the software side, the phone ships with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and HTC Sense 4.

Sprint is selling the HTC EVO 4G LTE for $199.99 with a 2-year contract. If you don’t mind doing your smartphone shopping online, Amazon has the 4G LTE phone for only $149.99, though it doesn’t mention stock availability and shipment date.
