In an earlier report, we told you about Samsung’s plans to officially roll out the Galaxy S4 in a total of 60 different countries around the world starting today. As one of the most talked about and highly-anticipated Android smartphones ever created to date, we think it’s fair to say that a lot of people are just itching to get their hands on it. So where exactly is it?
In some places, it’s already available for sale. And that’s in a “you can actually go to a store, spend some money, and take it home with you right now” kind of way. However, there are some places wherein the Samsung Galaxy S4 still hasn’t been made available yet. In particular, U.S.-based carrier Sprint still hasn’t been able to do a full release of this handset due to delays in unit shipments. Fortunately, it now looks like things are about to change. For the better, of course.
According to a short statement from a Sprint PR spokesperson, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is now starting to flow “into Sprint sales channels” and will likely be made available for a much bigger release very soon. It now urges customers to check out nearby Sprint retail stores to get a closer look at what kind of deal they will be getting if they decide to purchase a Galaxy S4.
And if you’re wondering what exactly the Sprint spokesperson said about this whole situation, here’s the PR bit in question:
We are pleased inventory for the new Samsung Galaxy S 4 is now flowing into Sprint sales channels. Our partners at Samsung are ramping up production and we expect additional inventory shipments on a daily basis. We welcome customers to visit their nearest Sprint Store, www.sprint.com or Telesales at 1-800-SPRINT1 to check out Samsung Galaxy S 4 with Truly Unlimited data and 4G LTE from Sprint. We are delighted with the strong response to Galaxy S 4.
So what does this mean for everyone who pre-ordered the Galaxy S4 through Best Buy? Well, Best Buy, which has taken customer pre-orders for the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4, will finally start delivering units of the said handset to all those who placed orders very soon. However, there will be a slight delay that will prevent the first units of the handset from shipping out until May 9th at the earliest.
This information is based on an e-mail that was sent out by Best Buy itself. Here’s what it said:
“We’re sorry, but the fulfillment of your recent pre-order is taking longer than expected. We expect it to arrive between May 9 and May 20. To keep you informed of its delivery, we’ll send tracking information once the item has shipped.
If you prefer, you can cancel this order at any time. To do so, please call us at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289). If possible, please have your order number handy.
If we don’t hear from you before the order is shipped, we’ll assume you still want this item and accept this delay.
Once again, we’re sorry for this inconvenience, and we’ll do our best to make things right.”
For now, we can only stand by for further updates, hoping that these delays get sorted out soon so the Galaxy S4 can arrive as quickly as possible for all those who already placed their pre-orders.
