Original post: Sprint has announced that an Android Marshmallow update will begin rolling out for its branded version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 from today. This download will update the Galaxy Note 5 to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, bringing with it a selection of new features.

Samsung’s TouchWiz interface has received a few changes that brings it up to date with the company’s new Galaxy S7 releases. There’s also a new default Samsung web browser complete with ad-blocking support, and a selection of new app icons, folder designs and animations that improve the feel of the UI. On Google’s side, there are now granular app permissions for greater user privacy control, Google Now on Tap contextual search, and Doze app sleeping optimizations that should help improve battery life.

The update also includes some Google and Samsung security patches, which are presumable built from the latest March release, along with a selection of unspecified bug fixes.

Other US carriers have already begun updating their Galaxy Note 5’s to Android Marshmallow. Verizon started pushing out Android 6.0.1 at the beginning of March, followed by AT&T a week later.
