Sprint announced nine additional markets where the operator has lit up LTE via a press release Monday morning. The nine new markets with 4G LTE are as follows:

  • Asheville, N.C.
  • Altoona, Pa.
  • Hammond, La
  • La Crosse, Wis.
  • Temple, Texas
  • Statesville, N.C.
  • Elkhart/Goshen, Ind.
  • Columbus, Ind.
  • San Juan, Puerto Rico

You will, of course, need to have a Sprint device that is 4G LTE ready to take advantage of these new high-speed data speeds. Those that don’t have the privilege of 4G LTE should also see some improvements to Sprint’s Network Vision.

Hopefully with the launch of these nine new markets we will begin seeing Sprint roll out 4G LTE a bit faster than they have been.

Hell’s yeah. Hammond, LA has been lighting up around here for a few months now. Glad to see it’s official.

Check out my response to a Sprint Forum “4G LTE Coverage in Raleigh NC Market?” using the following link and look for user Ready4Sprint4gLTE (posted 3/3/2013). I got 4g LTE connections in the Crabtree Valley Mall, Pleasant Valley (near golden corral), & BJ’s near Capital Blvd & 540 areas. Check out the link as I’ve provided screen shots of speed test and map location for folks to check out for themselves. And I’m sure they are still in testing phases in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill Triangle market so expect to go live very soon. Hope this helps!
