Spotify Premium users on the Sprint network will be able to use carrier billing to add Spotify Premium's $10 monthly fee to their Sprint bill, starting today.

In May of this year, Sprint added the option to use carrier billing for Google Play Store purchases, allowing users to add app, music, video and book purchases to their monthly bill instead of paying for them right away. Last month, Verizon followed suit, showing that this payment method is becoming popular with users.

According to an anonymous tip sent to Engadget yesterday, Sprint is now adding the same payment method for users of Spotify Premium. While there doesn't seem to have been an official announcement at the time of this writing, today is supposed to be the day that the new billing option goes live.

Hopefully this will lead to carrier billing as an option for other Android apps with monthly fees like Audible, Rdio and Pandora. While not everyone is going to want to pay for services this way, more options are always welcome.

Are you a Spotify Premium user who uses Sprint as a carrier? Do you plan to start using Sprint carrier billing to pay your monthly fee, or are you going to stick with your existing payment method?
