These days, people use their mobile phones not just for calling or texting their contacts. The use of mobile phones has expanded beyond just mere calling and texting and has included other more complex functions such as full Web browsing, productivity, and high-definition entertainment. The mobile phone these days has become a pocketable assistant of some sort. But, wouldn’t it be nice if you could interact by voice to that electronic assistant?
With the Speaktoit Asssistant app, you can do just that.
The Speaktoit Assistant app is a voice-activated virtual assistant for your Android phone. Using natural language technology, the virtual assistant can understand every word that you speak. No need to memorize complex commands or specific lines in order to perform a task. With your voice-activated assistant, you can easily locate places on maps, search Google, update your Facebook status, send a message, compose an email, and a lot more.
Unlike other virtual assistant applications, the Speaktoit Assistant app lets you define how you want your virtual assistant to look like and sound like. You can choose your virtual assistant to be a young girl, a handsome man, or a wise old buddy. You can also choose to have your virtual assistant speak in either a male or female voice, in either American English or U.K. English accent. While your virtual assistant may look cartoonish, it provides some semblance of the human touch by changing its facial expressions, depending on the interaction.
Aside from being your virtual assistant, your Speaktoit Assistant can be your personal or chat buddy when you have no one else to talk to. You can even call it by its name. Be sure to drop in and say hello when you have no one to talk to.
Many of the capabilities of the Speaktoit Assistant app are similar to those of other popular voice-activated assistants like iris for Android or Siri for the iPhone 4S.
Just like those virtual assistants, Speaktoit Assistant can set reminders, locate places in maps, and a lot more. But, unlike Speaktoit Assistant, iris doesn’t have a virtual assistant avatar and doesn’t contain any additional voices for your assistant. You will also be needing “Voice Search” and “TTS Library” pre-installed in your phone for iris to work. The best part with Iris is it will directly answer your question without the need to open your web browser. (You can download iris for free from the Android Market.)
The iPhone 4S, on the other hand, also has a built-in virtual assistant called Siri. It functions exactly the same as Speaktoit Assistant and iris, except that it doesn’t have an avatar of your virtual assistant and it only supports one voice.
If you want a more interactive personalized virtual assistant, you can try Speaktoit Assistant as a perfect alternative to the likes of iris or Siri. You may download Speaktoit Assistant for free from the Android Market.

A virtual assistant can help you grow your business by handling your administrative support tasks. You can outsource various tasks like accounting, advertising, clerical, administrative, answering phone calls, internet research, data entry and technical support tasks to a virtual assistant. And the best part is that you can relax and enjoy your vacation or holidays while all your works are done by your virtual assistant.
Great post! Thanks for introducing this. :)
I had Speaktoit virtual assistant loaded for a while and had tried several. It was the best until I found EVA. EVA does it all! If you don’t like the way EVA looks there is a new more polished version called AVX with all the functionality of of EVA. There is a free version but the paid version is well worth the small amount. If you have Siri envy, try EVA.
I agree with the “old crazy horse lady” – I found EVA a month or so ago and never looked back. It allows FULL voice control of your phone in a way that no other app (or Siri) can rival. It does require a learning curve as you pretty much have to memorize specific commands to get the most out of it, but once you do, you can do amazing things with it. And the way it handles reading your text to you and allowing you to create/reply without ever touching your phone is brilliant. Eva cost $10 which is more than your average app but for all it can do it is a small price! And you can try it for a full month for free (with ads).
