We know you still haven’t seen enough of the Sony Xperia Z3, so here are some new images for you! These come from leaks extraordinaire @evleaks and give us a good look at the back and side of the mysterious smartphone.

The rounded edges and familiar back are in tow. We are seeing a smartphone that looks more polished than its predecessor, but keeps that iconic Sony design we can recognize from a mile away. Also on board is the volume rocker, a prominent power button, a dedicated camera button and what seems like a microSD or SIM card slot.

The surplus of Sony Xperia Z3 rumors and leaks may numb your excitement for such photos, but we must point out these do stand out in the crowd. The first set of images didn’t offer great quality, and the second group was nearly as bad (but still better).

Rumored specs include a Snapdragon 801 processor, 3 GB of RAM, a 5.15-inch 1080p display, 16 GB of internal storage, 20.7MP/2.1MP cameras and Android 4.4. Those are some stunning components. And while Sony doesn’t seem to be joining the QHD display party, 1080p is nothing to scoff at.

Do remember these are all leaks and rumors. Though they have all been pretty consistent, nothing is official until it is. Take it all with a healthy dose of sodium and let’s stay tuned for more details.

    I like that side view.

  • Haseeb

I wouldn’t buy it unless they pack it with Snapdragon 810

If you’re going to wish for impossible specs, at least make it something huge like Intel 4970K or something

Barely an incremental upgrade from the Z2. I wonder if they’re using the same camera sensor? I know that they’ve peaked at 20 MP because the 801 can’t processes anything higher (for that they’d need an 805). In terms of the specs race, the Z3 would be behind Samsung’s fall flagship (the Note 4), which likely has an 805 to power the QHD screen. I couldn’t give a fig about QHD, but it does make the Z3 (superficially) look like a bit outdated (aka mid-2014)

Sony still needs to work on their bezel optimization, considering the LG G3 was the same height as the Z2 but packed a 0.5″ larger screen. At least the sides look a bit more rounded, which should help ergonomics.

Again the Z123 packs a larger camera sensor than the LG G3 which means either more bezel or a thicker phone.

i like the design lets hope they do OLED screen before 2k. and finally make camera take better pictures than s5.

    • BruceLeeRoyJenkins

Agreed, with the lack of apps, and pretty much everything out there that can take advantage of 4K that shouldn’t be a rush for Sony to jump on board. For now I’d rather have a more improved screen experience from what they delivered in the Z2.

As for the camera department Sony really needs to live up to that 20.7 MP

  • Jesus

…pretty much the same as the Z2 =/ Nothing exciting regarding the design.

z1 and the z were much better, this looks a tad girly

  • Barish

        • tech4life

I know right! Fingerprints are so sexy!

        • Richard Gao

your S4 is a plastic piece of TouchWiz-laden shit, unless you’ve flashed a new ROM

          • das

sounds like ya jealous cuz my phones made out of a much more durable marterial than ugly cold metal that came from old beer cans and scratches and dents easily :)

        • Rick_Jr

Plastic Lover. Samsung smartphone range is not even acceptable in terms of design.

          • das

htc and sony phones r ugly as shit ,thick arse bezels ,so fail HTC needs a bezel JUST for the logo lmao

  • enrique

The line of smartphones has created sony seems fantastic, upscale lineage but is still literally getting very high price. As a consumer I would never pay such amount, ever knowing that I can get something that I benefit even more without complaining about money

    OnePLus One stills the best

Barely a upgrade from the Z2, or even the Z1 for that matter. What are you doing Sony?

  • odeiosenhas

    z1 = z2 = z3

    In 2020: z1 = z30

    Boring

    • Rick_Jr

      so how about the S-S2-S3-S4-S5
      SO?

  • itzvarma

the rear panel doesn’t look like glass, it is not reflective and looks good. but i seriously doubt the specs.. it should come with 805 !!

  • Sqube

By the time the Z3 releases in the U.S. the Z4 rumor mill will probably already be in full swing.

Somebody should tell Sony that we buy phones here, too.

  • Daniel

I have been waiting for the Z2 from the day it was released and after 6 months i couldn’t wait any longer and went with the LG G3. It seems like sony could have made a lot more sells if they were a little smarter with their release dates in the U.S. because i know im not the only one that got tired of waiting and went with another flagship device. I fear that it will be the same with the Z3 and I will end up going with another flagship yet again next year also.

  • mggOptimusG

“16 GB of internal storage, …Those are some stunning components. ” … What is so stunning about 16GB ? …. getting a G3 since it has 32GB. This is DOA.

    • Rick_Jr

Just as an option 16 or 32 gb. so not all G3

  • Ron

is the back surface still glass?

  • Damon Salvador

    Flagship Smartphone rotation policy .. time 4-6 months !!. Z2 to Z3 … Dafuq Sony !!

  • Romana Ĺ treitová

Well, if my eyes don’t lie to me the back of the phone looks like it’s made from the same material as the back of Xperia Z2 tablet, which would be great upgrade ’cause on the previous ones the glass can be broken SO easily. I think it looks good but will have to see more pictures.

  • kyle

Z2 is my first sony smartphone and boy am in love with this beauty ! Coming from an s5 “yes s5″ i must say that the galaxy line is no where near sony’s xperia.
About the camera…test it at your nearst shop because its amaaazing.this superior mode is indeed superior !

  • Arman

That makes it the same as Oneplus One. Doesn’t add anything new other than a better camera
