Rumors about Sony’s 2013 Xperia line-up have been abundant lately, but as of right now we have only bits and pieces to cling on to and basically nothing official. It obviously doesn’t help that many…
The already leaked Sony C660X, also known as the Sony Yuga is going to be released as the Sony Xperia Z.
This news, according to the XperiaBlog, came from a reliable source who has provided credible info at the XDA-Developers forum in the past. The new Xperia Z is said to feature a 5-inch 1080p display with 443 PPI. The phone is reported to be water and dust resistant. It will feature an Ingress Protection (IP) rating of IP55 and IP57 which is similar to the ratings received by Xperia V and Xperia arco S in the past.
While internal specifications of this upcoming Xperia device are unknown, at this point of time, the final dimensions of the Xperia Z are said to be 139 x 71 x 7.9mm. The phone is reported to feature Sony's OptiContrast display panel which is usually used in Sony's televisions. This is the same panel that Sony used in the Sony Xperia V and Xperia Tablet S.
As more pre-announcement details are emerging, the Sony Xperia Z or the “Yuga” is turning out to be a very interesting device. No details about its release are available yet. Check out our full coverage here.
