Sony Xperia Tablet Z launching in the U.K. May 20, costs £499
British online retailer Clove has put up Sony’s Xperia Tablet Z for pre-order. Interested buyers can expect to pay £499.20 including VAT, with an expected availability date of May 20.
Earlier this month, Sony’s official U.K. store put the tablet up for pre-order with the expected delivery date of mid-April. That date seems to have been pushed back to May 21 to May 22, which falls in line with Clove’s availability date.
Sony’s Xperia Tablet Z supports a 10-inch 1080p display with a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable via a microSD slot. The device has an 8MP Sony Exmor R camera and optional 4G LTE connectivity.
On the software side, you can expect Sony’s own skin on top of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. According to Computerworld, Sony said that the device will be receiving Android 4.2 “shortly after” its release.
At a steep price of £499, there’s no doubt that the Xperia Tablet Z is going to be a tough sell. Are you planning on snagging Sony’s latest tablet offering?
