Specifications for the next-gen Sony flagship Android handset have reportedly been leaked again alongside purported images of the device.

While the phone is yet to be made official, this isn’t the first time we see reports detailing potential specs for the handset or images for it – in fact this new story from China does show a Honami press image we’ve seen before (check it out below).

According to ePrice, here’s what the Honami will have to offer:

  • 5-inch Triluminos Display with X-Reality Engine and Full HD (1080p) resolution
  • 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 16GB of storage
  • microSD card slot
  • 1/2.3-inch 20.7-megapixel Exmor RS display with Sony Lens G, BIONZ for mobile image processor and dedicated camera shutter button
  • 2-megapixel ExmorR front-facing camera
  • NFC
  • MHL
  • Wi-Fi
  • LTE
  • 3000mAh battery (apparently not user-replaceable)
  • IPX5/IPX7 certification
  • Size: 144 x 73.9 x 8.3mm

While some of the hardware details mentioned above were present in other similar leaks, the camera specs are different that in previous reports which suggested the main shooter on the Honami will be a 1/1.5 to 1/1.6-inch one.

Purported Xperia i1 Honami image. On the left: an alleged press image of the device, spotted in previous reports.

With that in mind, we’ll remind you that this is still just a rumor, as the device is yet to be unveiled.

The company is expected to announce the Xperia i1 Honami on September 4 during a special press event at IFA 2013, in Berlin, Germany. Sony is also rumored to have a smaller high-end version of the Honami in stores later this fall to take on the upcoming iPhone 5S, although that’s also just a rumor at this point.

If it doesn’t have a removable battery it won’t beat Samsung. There are enough people who value that feature, which is justified.

    • Luka Mlinar

      Not that many m8. :P

    • cottage McKay

As long as its big enough, and 3000 mah is big enough

      • hohopig

Good luck when it turns bad and loose charge. With an ifixit score of 1, you will be overcharged by the retailers when you bring it in to replace the batteries.

You do use your phone more than 1 year .. or perhaps pass it down to the young/younger ones after you buy a new phone?

Perhaps not, since it does not seems to affect you. But there are many others who do.

        • DavidB

many devices these days don’t have removable batteries. And anyway most batteries stay ok within the first year, so what if you do need to get it replaced in year 2? That’s why god invented screw drivers, youtube and gave your fingers… learn to do it your blinking self man! (or are you?)

    • Bjajjull

Lol. Most people don’t care. If people knew what they bought no one would have bought iPhone.

      • The Calm Critic

Nope they might be ignorant the 1st time they got their iPhone, next you should head on to Apple’s own support forums and look for batt related posts. It proves the contrary.

    • Replaceable

Non Replaceable battery is what killed my urge to get new nokia. Now Sony seems to be following its footsteps. Urg, I need my phone to last more than 2 years since whenever I upgrade I usually put another sim card in it either to used as a house phone as I don’t use landlines anymore or I simply use it to replace my parents phones..

  • Luka Mlinar

You put a quad core 2.2GHz processor in a waterproof phone? And no1 thinks this thing is gonna catch fire after the first week. Hell, it might be just me :D
Then again i suppose we can dunk it in water every half an hour.

    • Only Samsung phones catch fire, but at least it won’t electrocute you like the iPhone.

      • najiy91

plus s-bomb that injured the girl’s’s the king!

      • hohopig

:P ALL phone can catch fire. Forgot about the nokia ones?

      • Luka Mlinar

Ok ok i admit Sony is the least likely to catch fire. :D

  • Ashad Mamood

Can’t wait for this phone.Bored with plastic rubbish Sammy release every week

    • jpark2479

Its plastic but it serves a function. Its light for its size. If my note 2 weighed anymore than it does. It would be tiring to hold for long periods. Also despite it being plastic it does provide a good feel.

Good feel but not premium feel, bitch.

    huge , huge bezel

  • myheadsinmississippi

Bezels are relevatively speaking even bigger than on the Z Ultra. Not cool.

  • Noel

Wow love those specs but I can’t get passed how tall (144mm) it is for a 5” screen device. That is Phabket tall for only 5” screen.

  • Maher Salti

So, does this thing have wireless charging?

    • yeahh

yes…….the real one, no need attach to stupid “thing” ;)

      • Maher Salti

that’s great.. how about the xperia z ultra?
        will this be QI?

  • Marco Sobrevilla

It was reported as 32GB before and now as 16GB I really do hope they go with the 32GB of internal memory.

    • i1
      • Marco Sobrevilla

I don’t read that page. I don’t understand that language but of the ones I have read, up until now, they’ve had it pegged as a 32GB smartphone.

  • Cristi13

How to get likes on a Sony article: type something like “Samsung plastic sucksss” and “Sony rulezzz”. My god, I didn’t know you need to hate Samsung to be a Sony fan, considering i’m one of them.

    • ;)

Sony is always a failure…not to mention Xperia Z with shitty battery life, worse of viewing angles and crappy camera ;)

  • Mushdagrt

Hopefully they switch the speaker location from where its at on the xperia z, includes inf beaming & otterbox decides to makes a defender series case for it….ive been waiting on the xperia z to come to the states on a carrier for a while but a day before i make my decision im having second thoughts about grabbing one lol ….knowing the way things flow though we wont see this here until march of next year smh..

  • rodpe

    144mm ?! Why?! Note 2 have 150mm, come on Sony…

  • Jaun Lombard

so where is the innovation? Same old same old…better than Xperia Z but still the same…

  • MasterMuffin

When this comes out, I want to see the camera comparison between this and Lumia 1020!

  • Imran Al-Imran

but dimentions are biger than my pocket. it looks thicker than z ultra.

  • Anders Svensson

It is to wide 73.9mm!!!!?????? it is the widest phone ever with 5″ screen, why Sony? I always have a case like Casemate tough or alike, it will not be ergonomic at all to handle and hold.

  • ali

    144 mm very big
