Sony’s upcoming Xperia Z1 (Honami) is highly anticipated. So are smartwatches, which also promise to figure heavily into the tech landscape moving forward. It seems like every company, or just about every company, will have one moving forward. Leaked images from European carrier EE show that they’ll package a Sony smartwatch 2 with every pre order of the Xperia Z1.
If the leaked image is accurate, we know that ‘Xperia Z1’ is the official name of the device. We can also surmise that pre-orders will start soon, perhaps even tomorrow after Sony announces the device at IFA. Unfortunately, Phone Arena doesn’t have any further info for us to go on.
If this pans out, it’s a brilliant move by EE. Smartwatches have created quite a buzz, but many are reluctant to dive in and see what the interest is all about. By ‘giving’ one away, they create a customer base and unload a bunch of Sony smartwatches; they’re good devices, but promise to fall well short of coming devices like the Galaxy Gear.
The Xperia Z1 is no slouch, and promises to be one of the best smartphones we’ve seen this year. Does a fantastic smartphone coupled with a mid-range smartwatch make you want to buy the package, though?

Sounds good, I plan to get an SM2 anyway, but most important is bundled charging dock, Sony accessories like that it’s too hard to find here, the watches are not.
