Now that Sony has dropped the Ericsson part of their name, we are expecting them to continue to attack the market fiercely as they did in 2011, and according to this leaked roadmap for Sony it looks like they will. Looks like Sony will be dropping 12 handsets to consumers in 2012, starting in April and lasting through to September.

Before you get to excited, yes we have to say it, these are all rumors. Including the release dates, prices and names, they are all still rumors. Sony has not confirmed any of this. At this point we don’t even know any of the codenames yet, but we suspect the ones that are slated to be released in April are the Xperia Ion and Xperia S, not sure about the third April handset though.

We’ve already seen two of the phones Sony is releasing this year, the Xperia S and Xperia Ion, we can’t wait to see what else Sony unveils for us. We will probably get a treat at Mobile World Congress next month from Barcelona.
