Sony Odin

Recently there have been quite a few rumors going around about two upcoming 1080p 5-inch handsets, known as the Sony Odin and Sony Yuga. Now it seems that we have a new leak that gives us the overall dimensions for the two Sony smartphones.

The leak comes from the XDA developers forum, and like all leaks of this nature, take this information with a grain of salt.

The Sony Odin is expected to be 131.6 x 69.7 x 9.8mm thick and will weigh only 147 grams. The Sony Yuga, on the other hand, will be 138.6 x 71 x 8.1 mm and will weigh even less at 140 grams. For those keeping score, both of these phones are smaller then the HTC Droid DNA which has dimensions of 141 x 70.5 x 9.73mm.

A 1080p screen in a compact package is great, but what about the power under the hood? The Yuga and Odin are essentially the same smartphone with a few minor tweaks to the design. Both handsets feature a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5GHz processor, Exmor camera sensors and 2GB of RAM. The Sony Odin is said to have a 2300 mAh battery and the Yuga’s battery is believed to be slightly larger at 2400mAh. It is also worth noting that the Yuga may only be intended for the Japanese market, with the Odin being marketed as a global variant.

What do you think, are you excited about the idea of a Sony 5-inch phablet or not?
