An image has surfaced claiming that the Sony i1 Honami will indeed sport a 20-megapixel rear shooter. While it may not be convincing by itself, it does line up with an earlier leak that claims the Sony i1 Honami will use a 20.7-megapixel shooter. The System Dump we previously heard about even points towards a 20MP shooter.
Additionally, at full resolution (20MP), the smartphone can take 4:3 photos, along with 16:9 photos when you go down to the standard 8-megapixels. While it may sound mouthwatering and everything you ever dreamed of in a camera on a smartphone, it’s very easy to fake things like this. So until there’s actual confirmation, it’d be wise to take this with a grain of salt, for now.
Speaking of official confirmation, it shouldn’t be much longer before the Sony i1 Honami is announced. The company is expected to announce the long-awaited device during a press conference at IFA 2013 in Berlin, Germany on Sept. 4. Being only a couple of months away, it shouldn’t be long before we begin seeing an increase of leaks.
Regardless, I’m really excited for the Sony i1 Honami, especially if it’ll have something like Nokia’s PureView technology. What are your opinions on this device so far? Are you excited to possibly have a smartphone with really good camera software coming soon? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
