As I’d mentioned in the rumor roundup, with just a few days left to the official launch of the Sony Honami, the leaks are going to be coming in fast. Today, we have some more images of the Sony handset. Another leak suggests that the Honami will in fact be released as the Sony Xperia Z1, and we also have the first video teaser of the smartphone from Sony.
Chinese site Digi-wo has published an image of the Honami along side the Xperia Z and the Xperia Z Ultra for a comparison of the size. As expected, the Honami and the Xperia Z are quite similar, with the Xperia Z Ultra obviously significantly larger than both. What is of interest in the image is the product stickers placed on top, which show that the Honami could possibly be released as the Sony Xperia Z1, as some previous rumors suggested.
Apart from the device comparison above, even more images of the white version of the Sony Honami have appeared on Digi-wo, which give us a good like at the side profile of the device, which does look quite thick, along with a first look at the long speaker at the bottom of the device. We also have a couple of images of the front and back of the smartphone.
Apart from the image leaks, Sony has also kept teasing the device over the last week or so. The company today released a teaser video of the device which gives us a great look at the frame of the smartphone which includes the headphone jack, power button, and a dedicated camera shutter button, as well as the handset being submerged in water. Take a look at the video here -
As the video mentions, it definitely looks like “the best of Sony is about to get even better.”
