Sony Mobile has been stepping up its marketing efforts in the UK to support the release of its Xperia phones, what with so many different models – coming in all sorts of sizes and shapes – now available in the market. The newest model that Sony has just announced is the Xperia Miro, which the company first teased on its Facebook page.

Sony Mobile calls the latest marketing blitz the Xperia Unleashed. Scheduled to begin on July 9, the campaign allows customers to win a variety of prizes from Sony if they’re able to take pictures of one of the “Xperiabots” that will be plastered around London and Manchester.

In case you’re wondering, these are the same robots that you can see on Sony’s Xperia TV advertisements – we’ve attached the video above for your viewing pleasure.

Once a robot is spotted, contestants can simply upload its corresponding QR code to the company’s Facebook page. Hints of the robots’ whereabouts will be given out on Sony’s Facebook page and Twitter page. Make sure you tune to those two social networks if you want to win goodies like the Xperia NXT phones, the chance to attend movie premieres, and tickets to gigs and DJ sessions.

So, go ahead and practice your robot-capturing skills using Xperia’s camera. You have about 4 days until the game begins.

Hopefully not just just London. The promotion should be UK wide.
