The Android star of the beginning of the year, the Xperia Z, and its Xperia ZL brother will hit stores in the coming months, and while we though we knew everything there was to know…
The recently announced Xperia Z is off to a good start when it comes to sales, although Sony isn’t ready to announce millions of shipments yet, and the Xperia ZL will also hit various markets as well. But these aren’t the only new Xperia models you should keep an eye out for this year.
Xperia Blog reports that a Sony C670X is in the works, a 4.8-inch handset that’s supposed to be similar to the Xperia Z (codenamed C660X). The new phone should be launched in mid 2013 and is said to feature a Full HD resolution display (1920 x 1080,) which means it will offer a higher Pixel Per Inch (PPI) density since it’ll sport a slightly smaller display.
Moreover, the handset will pack a 1.8GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 (APQ8064T) processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 13-megapixel camera and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.
From the looks of it, the C670X could very well be considered an HTC One rival, although that may not necessarily be Sony’s intention. Maybe the company is simply making sure it has various screen size options for its potential customers.
The image above provided by the same tipster could show this unannounced C670X model, although it can’t be confirmed at this time. We could be looking at a placeholder image that’s generally used by Sony in some official materials – apparently this one has been used in the Xperia Z setup guide although it’s not showing the Xperia Z.
Are you buying a Sony Android smartphone this year? Which one?
