Update (2/4/16): Since writing this article, Slide Rule has rebranded to Springboard. The article has been updated to reflect this change.

Original post (11/14/14): For those that have coding skills but have yet to jump into the Android app development game, there are a number of resources out there to help you along your journey. Some of these options are paid, while others are free. If you’re looking for a good place to start without spending any money, Springboard has your back.

The online learning hub has created a guide consisting of 24 online resources, including Udacity and Google I/O videos. The so-called “Android App Development” Curriculum not only covers basics like Android Essentials, but also Location services, sensors, publishing and more. While you can find most of these resources on your own, it is nice to have them all in one place.

The total coursework will take over 90 hours to complete, though it could be worth taking a lot for app development newbies. You can check out the coursework in its entirety by heading here.
