Sonic

We’ve seen plenty of holiday special discounts on Android smartphones lately, but with just five days to go until Christmas app deals are a bit on the light side. Or were on the light side, because Sega has kicked the festivities into gear with a pretty awesome promotional offer.

As usual, iOS gamers are a lot more spoiled than us Android enthusiasts, but we can’t complain too much. After all, you don’t get the opportunity to buy every title in the Sonic franchise for just 99 cents very often, do you?

Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II and Episode II THD are by far the best Sega bargains right now, having their prices dropped with a pretty hefty 6 bucks (from $6.99 to $0.99, or 85% off). Sonic CD is currently 80% off, having its price lowered from $4.99, while Sonic 4: Episode I has seen a nifty 75% price cut, from $3.99 to 99 cents.

Jet Set Radio

But Sega is not all about the nosy Sonic hedgehog (or not anymore), so you should be glad to find out that the deals extend to other titles too. Jet Set Radio and Total War Battles: Shogun are $1.99 each (both down from $4.99), while the more basic ChuChu Rocket goes for $0.99, after a 66% discount (down from $2.99).

Unfortunately, more premium sports titles, like Virtua Tennis Challenge and Football Manager Handheld, are still up for grabs for hefty $4.99, $6.99 and $9.99 prices, while Super Monkey Ball 2: Sakura Edition has for some reason been discounted on iOS, but not on Android. Not cool, Sega, not cool!

Be that as it may, these deals are sure to put a smile on the faces of a couple of gamers and we’re expecting other big-time developers to follow Sega’s suite soon enough, so it’s all good! Oh, right, Sega’s sales are supposedly set to be valid throughout the holidays, way until January 3, so you should probably take your time and decide if it’s wise to spend all your change in one place.
