By James Tromans July 4, 2009 0 0 0 156 Samsung i7500 Flying somewhat under the radar is the news that O2 UK will now be getting the Samsung i7500 device in August this year. Ewan, from Mobile Industry Review, wandered into his local O2 store on Friday this week to pick up a brochure of the up and coming devices. The first Friday of the month is when these things hit the shelves. Allegedly, page six of this O2 July catalogue reveals the Samsung i7500 will land in August. This was confirmed by the shop clerk too. Given the fact that they also have the iPhone and, as MIR point out, possibly the Palm Pre, the carrier will certainly pack a punch this summer and give their consumers a healthy choice of handsets. In terms of marketing, it will be very interesting to see how much they push the Samsung i7500 device relative to the iPhone, and obviously sales figures will matter a lot here. With Apple breathing down their necks, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the i7500 take somewhat of a back-seat. With that said, the i7500 is one of the most anticipated Android devices of the summer and plenty of Android enthusiasts will be tracking one down, for sure. After all, at least three devices will have paved the way for the naive Joe Blogs to now have heard the about Android enough to become intrigued.Advertisement 0 0 0 previous postLG shooting for #2 with Android’s helpnext postSony Ericsson “Rachel” Android phone to be an Xperia model?
