Is there still a market for a “mini” Android phone? MetroPCS seems to think so. If you’re looking for an unlocked Android smartphone with a small-ish screen, you’ll be happy to hear that MetroPCS has added the Samsung Galaxy Admire 4G to its lineup.

The name might ring a bell because the phone is none other than the sequel to the Galaxy Admire of yesteryear. This time around, Samsung has equipped the handset with a faster processor and 4G radio. It’s a shame to still see Gingerbread there, though.

    The specs are as follow:

    • 3.65-inch HVGA display
    • 1GHz single-core processor
    • 1.32GB internal storage
    • microSD support (up to 32GB)
    • 3.2MP rear camera with flash
    • 1.3MP front cam
    • 4G radio and GPS
    • 1,600mAh battery
    • Android 2.3 Gingerbread

You can already find the Galaxy Admire 4G on MetroPCS’ website, where it’s selling for $169 without a contract – the phone will hit retail stores tomorrow.

Who’d have thought that we’d still be seeing a phone debuting with Android 2.3 even as we near 2013. Anyone interested?

Oh look, another Galaxy device. Is Samsung here becoming the new HTC or what?

At least the price is good for someone doing pay-as-you-go.

LG Motion 4G >>> cuz it’s only $149 and it comes with ice cream sandwich and 1.2 GH dual processor. Except it’s screen size is 3.5. Other than that i love this phone

    • SharkDogg

why on earth is it priced HIGHER than the LG Motion 4G? The Motion 4G is spec’d higher on everything with exception to screensize which is equal to. Doesn’t make any sense?!
