Ever since 2013 we have been writing headlines like “The clamshell phone won’t die, and the Galaxy Folder is the living proof” or “Who says that clamshell phones are dead? Enter the Android-powered Samsung Galaxy Folder” and it seems that Samsung are serious about not letting flip phones go the way of the dinosaurs. Not only did it release another flip phone in 2015, see this is what an Android clamshell looks like, but the flip phone rumor mill is turning once again.

According to the rumors Samsung is looking to try something a little different and make a flip phone with near flag ship specifications, well as near as you can get in a flip phone.

This new device, code named Veyron, is rumored to feature a top end custom Exynos 8890 processor, a 12 megapixel main camera on the back plus a 5 megapixel front facing camera. Car enthusiasts will notice the connection with the Bugatti Veyron supercar, which was named after Pierre Veyron. There probably isn’t any actual connection with Bugatti, but rather the code name signifies the power of the Exynos 8890, especially in such a small device!

Other rumors include dual 3.9 inch Super AMOLED screens, one as you would normally get and the other on the top of the flip for notifications and much more, the possibilities for this are endless, it has also said to be made of glass and metal giving you a real high end build along with that “classic” flip design.

One downside for anyone who digs the clamshell design is that it looks like this device is only heading to Asia, so anyone outside of this region will have to look to import.
