Everyone agrees that one of the core strengths that allowed Samsung to become the biggest smartphone maker in the world is marketing.
Part of a mammoth marketing push over the last couple of years, a series of smart, relatable, and poignant ads have made the Galaxy brand a household name for millions of people. And Samsung is showing no signs of slowing down.
While previous commercials for the Note series focused on business/enterprise/productivity features (remember the unicorn game ads?), it looks that Samsung is targeting consumers with the first spots in the “Design Your Life” campaign for the Note 3 and the Gear.
Here’s the first 2m:51s spot in the series, titled “Sweet Dreams” (Samsung calls it a “short film”). If you watched the Unpacked Episode 2 event last week, you might remember that the Korean company showed a shortened version of this spot on stage.
A creation of Leo Burnett, the “Design Your Life” campaign will include TV, print, and online videos, focusing on “striking visuals and unique musical experiences”.
The Galaxy Note 3 and its companion device, the Galaxy Gear, will be available starting September 25, with North American carriers to offer it sometime in October.
The “Sweet Dreams” spot is impressive and the production value is obviously very high, but at least for me, Samsung’s previous ads were a bit more memorable. Do you agree?
