Samsung Stratosphere Packs LTE and a Full QWERTY Keyboard for Verizon
With their 4G LTE network on the rise, Verizon has been hard at work trying to improve their LTE phone roster. After releasing the Pantech Breakout, Verizon is just getting started. Now, with render images surfacing, it looks as if the Samsung Stratosphere will be Verizon’s first LTE Slider. In addition, this phone will pack a full five row QWERTY keyboard as well.
The current rumored specifications include:
- 4” Super AMOLED 480×800 display
- Android 2.3.4
- 2GB Internal Storage
- 1GHz single-core processor
- 512MB of RAM
- 4GB of internal storage, further expandable via microSD card
- 5MP Rear/ 1.3MP Front Cameras
Availability and Pricing
Generally, leaked images lead to good things. Bearing that in mind, we can assume that this device will be hitting the shelves soon. In addition, the same render images were caught on Wirefly’s website on the same page as the Pantech Breakout 4G. Therefore, we will clearly be seeing this device on Wirefly very soon. Rumor has it that October 6th is a valid date for release. However, only time will tell.
In the price category, no one has made any guesses yet. But, with the Pantech Breakout 4G being sold for free (via Wirefly) with a new 2yr contract and $409.99 unsubsidized, my guess is that the same price tag will applied to the Samsung Stratosphere. With both phones featuring similar specs, it’s likely they will be in the same price range, but with Samsung’s devices commanding a bit of a brand premium expect this speedy QWERTY slider to go for somewhere in the range of $99-$149. Any thoughts?
