Samsung shows Galaxy Tab Android-powered tablet

Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab

Wow, this is a surprise. Samsung South Africa just posted a picture to Twitter showing the Galaxy S smartphone and its new Galaxy Tab tablet next to each other.

According to Samsung SA, the Galaxy Tab features a 7-inch TFT touchscreen display and sports a 3.5mm headphone jack at the top. Hardware buttons include home, back, and menu.  There appears to be a front-facing camera on the top right corner of the Tab’s face, and a normal looking volume control on its left edge.

We no little else about it, apart from the fact that it will launch in South Africa (presumably for the World Cup, which starts on June 11).
