Gaming on Android has gotten a lot better in recent years. It has evolved greatly from the days when mobile phone gaming consisted of badly ripped off Tetris remakes, various card games, and the dreadful old snake game. Now there are full featured games with decent graphics. All of them are easily obtainable from the Google Play Store with a simple search. Of course, many of them cost money, but if you happen to own a Samsung phone, there are some great games that will cost you no money.

In an effort to promote their brand, Samsung is offering a few free games from their own app store. These include Shadowgun: The Leftover, Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation, and Asphalt 7: Heat. The games are already considerably popular, having racked up a total of a couple million downloads in the Google Play Store.

How to get them from Samsung

Getting the games is a relatively simple task. You must either use your Samsung phone to download them or use Samsung Kies if you have it installed. Attempting to download the apps on a web browser only prompts you to use your phone or Kies.

Now for the bad news: It appears as though these applications are only free if you own a Samsung Galaxy S3. So if you have any of their other products, you probably can’t get these games for free. What’s more, there are also regional restrictions. This means that you may not be able to get it depending on where you live. This can definitely stifle the excitement for a lot of people. However, if you own a Galaxy S3 and you live in one of the approved regions, then you’re okay. Otherwise, no free games for you.

Samsung hasn’t mentioned how long the promotion will last. So if you intend on cashing in on the free games offer, you should probably do so soon. You can check out the pages for each game below.
