Samsung Just Keeps the Superphones Coming – New Samsung SHV-E120L, 1.5Ghz Dual Core with 4.7 Inch HD Display

September 22, 2011

Samsung is on overdrive! This device marks yet another entrant to the Superphone Arena, packing specs to die for. The Samsung SHV-E120L first exposed itself in NenaMark’s benchmark result not too long ago, and while it made our jaws drop (again), it didn’t reveal much in the way of specs beyond its 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor, 1280×720 display and the fact that it was a device running Android 2.3.5. Interested? Read on.

And so we have a 4G capable device, with all the usual stuff, but with a larger battery than most devices out there, which is nice. Plus, as you will see below in the NenaMark benchmark, this is a device that should be taken very seriously.

If these benchmarks are indeed to be taken as truth, then its looking to be an amazing contender for best superphone of the year. To be able to output such amazing high framerates with a 1280×720 display is nothing to scoff at, and has the processing potential to dwarf every phone out on the market.

Specs of the SHV-E120L

  • a massive 4.7-inch screen (we’re thinking Super HD AMOLED Plus)
  • 8MP rear/2MP front facing cameras
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 16GB of internal memory
  • compatibility with South Korea’s LTE network

Both LG, with their new U+, and Samsung with their whole swath of super-devices, are taking this superphone stuff quite seriously folks. It’s quite unfortunate that the US and Canada tend to lag behind the rest of the world when it comes to getting these devices, but at least they will be coming at some point, when the carriers deem it in their best interest, at least. Either way, it’ll be going on sale in the next 4-6 weeks, so if you’re feeling the need for speed in a big way, and think the Samsung Galaxy Note is too big, and the Samsung Galaxy S II too small, then this could be the one for you, particularly because it will be packing a 720p 4.7 inch display.

Too big? Too small? Any takers?

    Stop making big screens! :(
3.5 up to 4.0 is enough! Even 4.3 sometimes looks big. Who need 4.7??? Its turned to be bagphone because you will not be able to keep it in pockets.
