One day closer to May 3, one more Samsung Galaxy S3 rumor to tackle. Such is the life for every Android news writer anywhere. Not that I’m complaining, because with every rumor, we inch that much closer to the truth, and unless we are completely off our game, we should have a pretty decent idea of what to expect when the device is finally (FINALLY!) released. Of course, Samsung could yet completely surprise us, so all we can do is wait and see. Till then, another rumor anyone?

SamMobile has received from an “inside” source, the specifications and device sketch of the Samsung GT-i9300, believed to be the Galaxy S3, from the official Service Manual of the device. From this leak, we can see that the device specifications include:

    • Android 4.0 OS
    • 4.8″ Super AMOLED MIPI (C-type) display
    • 1.5 Ghz quad-core processor
    • 8MP Autofocus rear camera, 1080p video recording capability
    • Bluetooth v4.0, USB 2.0
    • Wifi 802.11 b/g/n/a

It is interesting to note the new type of AMOLED display Samsung is planning to use for this device, and the slightly larger than expected screen size, inching into Galaxy Note territory. Other specifications aren’t surprising, although the 8MP is disappointing as the Galaxy S3 was rumored to sport a 12MP camera. The sketch also shows the presence of a physical button.

Of course, other rumors suggest that Samsung will feature an entire lineup of new Galaxy devices, ala HTC’s One series, so this might very possibly be another device which is a part of this range, or could be the Samsung Galaxy S3 itself. Again, we will not know for sure until May 3, unless there is a major security breakdown on the part of Samsung.

What are your thoughts? Galaxy S3 – Yes? No? Maybe? How does the specifications of this device (whichever it might be), stack up against your expectations? Let us know in the comments section below.

The picture is parallel projected so it is a render of a 3d model. Possibly not fake then. On the other hand it doesnt show RAM size

I hope thats not the S3, or at least it is only one version of it. I dont see any mention of CDMA or LTE. I may very cry if Verizon doesnt offer the S3

A leaked Verizon “roadmap” says they will have it

      Looks great.

I call “fake” – 1.5gz? didnt sammy confirm today that it would be 1.4?

      • jorrm4

“Designed on 32nm HKMG process, new energy-efficient chip exceeds 1.4GHz per core” They confirmed it would be more than 1.4GHz

        • AndyH

good point! I stand corrected (still call “fake” tho… call me mr skeptical)

So if I’m not mistaken the only thing according to Rumor is a faster processor wow……that’s it. Not impressed by this phone at all this is probably all Sammy has to offer on may 3rd along with the new cloud feature. Sucks because I didn’t have high hopes and thought I was gonna be wowed. Glad i get to see all of your dissapointing comments on may 3rd and still get over to sprint to pre order my HTC evo on the 7th……

“I didn’t have high hopes and thought I was gonna be wowed.”

Way to show you’re full of it. What’s more impressive is you do all in one sentence. At least break it up so it’s not so obvious.

What were you expecting? The main increase is always the processor and the ram. Beats audio? pffft. If I am going to spend that much money on headphones, I’m going to spend it on a better product than beats. Have fun with your phone that will likely not perform as well as the Galaxy S3 and your overpriced beats audio.

8 mega pixel or 12 mega pixel this phone is still better than all competition. I just hope the case material is good quality, sd card slot and good battery. The rest of the specs in the diagram are good.

What I’m trying to figure out is what makes it better. Show me. Nothing beat a dedicated camera button that can turn on camera instantly from sleep mode. A kickstand that’s works in
Landscape and portrait. The fact that you can hold the shutter to take multiple pics that’s a huge plus for my sons soccer games when he’s about to score….. beats audio HD voice lte nfc and a host of other very nice features on the HTC evo

        • Mohdamr1

HTC beats is a very good quality sound system and what I think makes the galaxy S3 better is the processor (more powerful and uses 20% less power), screen technology, battery life, sd card slot, thin, and the camera is still one of the best.

I know more MP does not automatically make a better camera, but I would love to see a 12MP camera on the S3 with the censors etc to take awesome pics. The GS2 has a great camera (except for low light pics) so for me, the GS3 would need to improve on that – especially if they want to remain ahead of Apple (iPhone 5 will no doubt be released this year)

how much ram dose it have ?

      looks good!
