Sometimes bad things happen to good people who carry non-rugged Android handsets. Whether you enjoy spending most of your time in the great outdoors or are a self-confessed butter fingers – having a device that’s been built to meet your active lifestyle is paramount to avoid watching it break to pieces or literally crack under pressure. One such device is the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2.

We’ve talked about the Galaxy Xcover 2 before, and even posted a video of our hands-on experience with the tough phone last week, the same one you can watch below, in case you missed it the first time around.

If you simply need the Xcover 2 in your life, here’s the latest on its price and availability. Those in Europe, specifically in Finland, can now grab the phone from Gigantti for €319. The phone retailer said that the phone will be delivered on March 7, which is only three days away.

Expect the Galaxy Xcover 2 to hit UK soon as well, though you can already pre-order it from Clove, where it’s being offered for £270. The shipment date hasn’t been listed yet, though.

If this is your first time reading about the phone, here’s a quick roundup of its specs once more. The Xcover 2 boasts a 4-inch screen with 800 x 480 resolution, a dual-core 1GHz Cortex A9 processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB onboard storage, microSD support, 5MP rear cam, VGA front cam, HSDPA/HSUPA, and a 1,700mAh battery. It will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Complementing the Xcover 2′s sturdy built and tough exterior is its IP67 certification, making the phone both waterproof and dustproof.

    For that price, no.

Currently, the (I admit, aged) Motorola Defy+ has dropped in price to 160,- euro. I still prefer that one over this mid-specs Samsung.

And besides, it is awkward that Samsung released a better specs version of the Xcover 2 in the USA last year (the Samsung Rugby Pro), but expects EU citizens to be happy with this high priced phone.
