Dell are rumored to release a 7-inch Android based tablet sometime in 2011, but in truth an exact date is about as firm as quicksand. The 5-inch screen of Dell’s Streak fills a niche screen-size but…
The Samsung Galaxy Tab has turned up on Amazon.com, available for pre-order now and coming November 9th. If you want to get this without a contact to a network then it will set you back $699.99 with free shipping and should arrive on November 10th. This is in-line with the official release date of the device on T-Mobile, where it will set you back $400 on contract.
If you’re living in the UK, then you may already be in line at Carphone Warehouse picking your Galaxy Tab up right now. Of course, many stores opened early today to match an expected spike in demand, so you could already have it.
However, if you haven’t yet made your way to the store or ordered online, you might want to wait a little bit since T-mobile made a small mistake earlier, allegedly detailing the new 10-inch version of the Tab. The bad news is that this device may not be running Android. There are whispers of a Windows 7 version. Here is a quote from popular T3 magazine’s online news segment,
Like the launched 7-inch model, the leaked 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab is, according to the T-Mobile spec sheet, still to sport a 1024 x 600p resolution display. Other than that, however, the new 10-inch device appears to be a step forward in tablet computing with a 1.66GHz processor, whopping 160GB harddrive and 1GB of DDR2 RAM.
I haven’t seen this leaked specification sheet myself, but I will continue to do a little digging and see what I can come up with.
