SamMobile received information Wednesday afternoon that Samsung would introduce the Galaxy Star at Mobile World Congress next week. The publication reports that the device will be a low end smartphone in the Galaxy lineup with an expected release in April.

SamMobile said that the Galaxy Star GT-S5282 is based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It will sport a 3-inch QVGA display, 2MP rear shooter, 4GB of internal storage, and a microSD slot allowing up to 32GB of expandable storage. It will, as is expected, have Wi-Fi, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 1200 mAh battery.

Pricing for the Galaxy Star isn’t available just yet, but we don’t expect it to take a huge toll on your wallet. It’d be nuts to be priced at $99 or more since, in most cases, you can get much better specs than what is offer in the Galaxy Star for $99.

Be sure to stay tuned with Android Authority as MWC commences! We’ll be there to supply you with all the latest news in the Android world!

low end SMARTPHONE? Where’s the line between smartphone and a feature/regular/something (?) phone if a 3 incher with those specs is a smartphone :O
