The launch of Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus smartphones isn’t far away now, so it’s not surprising to see a few more last minute leaks. This time, sources have managed to get their hands on some details about the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus’ software. More specifically, the new features that make use of the Edge display.

For starters, the original S6 Edge’s People Edge feature is being updated with a second menu, to allow users to access up to five of their favorite applications from the side of their display, in addition to their five favorite contacts. Allowing theEedge display to work as a small app launcher might help to make the unique display a little more useful when it comes to day-to-day activities.

Speaking of contacts, this feature has been updated with a new ‘OnCircle’ menu, which offers up quick access to initiate video calls or send a picture or emoticon straight to one of your favorite contacts. This feature also includes the existing options for calls, text messages and emails. We’ll have to see if these feature play nicely with that optional keyboard accessory for the phone, which was spotted just yesterday.

As for hardware, the latest leaks suggest that the S6 Edge Plus will come with an octa-core Exynos 7420 SoC, 4GB of RAM, a 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED display, 16 megapixel rear camera, 5 megapixel front facing camera and a 3,000mAh battery.
