Samsung Galaxy S3

Just last week we reported on a leaked Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update for Verizon customers. Apparently once wasn’t enough, because it has happened again.

The leaked update was only posted yesterday, so it isn’t yet clear whether there are any feature updates since the last leak. It is likely that this newly leaked firmware is just a bugfix release.

The poster of the leaked firmware says that according to their source, this could be the final OTA update for Verizon customers. That is, of course, as long as Verizon doesn’t find any bugs. One bug, and it’s back to the drawing board.

You can pick up the ROM in both odexed and deodexed flavors at XDA Developers. A guide to installing the leaked ROM is available there as well. Be warned, this can lead to very bad things happening to your phone if you don’t know what you’re doing, so make sure to be very careful if you haven’t done this type of thing before.

Have you tried the leaked firmware? How do you like it so far? Or are you just going to wait for an official update from Verizon?

Waiting for a non buggy build of CM10 before I go to JB. Hopefully this leak will aid that.

Why@? Why does everyone other than Sprint customers have to suffer the LONG waiting game?! At&t will no doubt be the LAST one to update and will DRAG it out as long as possible!!!

    • haha I have sprint, left verizon cause of that and saved money even with the etf cause it is so expensive

    • Tell me about it. I though verizon was the one who held out the longest but no, it’s AT&T.

I installed it a couple hours ago on my Verizon GS3 and it seems to be stable with everything functioning! The install process was simple with CWM and I reinstalled my apps with Titanium Backup since this leaked version has been rooted. It is Android 4.1.1, but that is fine [for now]. Hopefully they release an update to 4.1.2 soon, or even better yet 4.2.
