The Samsung Galaxy S3 is one of the best-selling Android smartphones on the market, and for good reason. The S3 has a gorgeous larger-sized display and many premium features that beat out many of its competitors. What could make the Galaxy S3 even better? What if it was free? Rogers, Bell Telus and Virgin Mobile are about to grant that wish to those in the Canadian market.

Starting this weekend the Galaxy S3 16GB will be completely free with a three year contract, and the 32GB model will be yours for just $49.99. For those of you that need a reminder on the specs of the Samsung Galaxy S3, here’s the list:

  • Snapdragon S4 Dual Core 1.5 GHz
  • Qualcomm MSM8960 Chipset

If the Samsung Galaxy Note is more up your alley, there is a deal on it as well. Samsung’s original phablet can be yours for free through Bell and Telus. Rogers customers will need to pay $49.99 with a three year contract. The price slash on the first-generation Note is more than likely a move to reduce inventory in time for the Galaxy Note 2.

So how long does the promotion last? Just through the weekend, it seems. Internal documents point to October 1st as the end date for all of the carriers. Any Canadian readers thinking about picking up the S3 or Note through this promotion?

Wrong specs… that’s the international version, and as far as I can tell by my Telus S3, I have 2 gigs of ram and d dual-core

the picture is also the galaxy s3 and galaxy note 2, i really hope they would give out the note 2 for free but its the note 1 they are giving us.

  • Telus is only offering fore FREE until October 1st as per this. But I am thinking about upgrading to the S3 from my iPhone 3GS. The iPhone 5 just doesn’t interest me.

Just got it myself today. Was surprised Rogers had it for $0.01 when the day before it was at $100.

its not free anymore because i wanted it a well but now i have to see what my options are. I called Rogers and they said apparently the promotion was only for the weekend :( Let me know if someone know a deal for S3.

Just picked up the s3 last night for $0 at Bell. Really nice phone and a lot faster than my I4. Love the screen size of it also.

So why did I pay for that f***ing phone ???????

  • I just grabbed the S3 through rogers for free PLUS a $100 credit onto my account, so the actually paid me to get the phone on a three year contract.

  • fid

Both Rogers and Bell bumped the price back to more than before last week?!

  • I bought the 32GB at Bell for $50 (actually, $0, I had a $50 credit), but it was defective. I returned it, but since I bought the last one in stock, I wasn’t able to get another one. Back with my slow 3GS.
