Virgin Mobile users, or those considering signing up, another Android smartphone has recently joined the available device lineup. The handset is the Samsung Galaxy S2 4G and it has arrived right on schedule. The price is $369.99 and remember, while that may sound pricey — Virgin Mobile is a contract-free carrier.
Those making the purchase will have the option to sign up with any of the Beyond Talk Monthly Unlimited Data and Messaging plans which begin at just $35 per month for 300 anytime minutes with unlimited messaging and data. Otherwise, the plans increase to $45 (with 1200 minutes) and $55 (with unlimited minutes) per month.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 4G may not be the newest handset on the market, however it still offers a fairly solid set of specs. Those include Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich along with a 4.52-inch Super AMOLED display, dual-core 1.2GHz processor, microSD card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera and 3G/4G WiMax connectivity.
Of course, the one catch — the Nexus factor. While this sounds all well and good, there is the Nexus 4 available for a contract-free $299/$349 that can be paired with the $45 per month Unlimited plan from Straight Talk.

If Virgin Mobile don’t get the nexus 4 any time soon I will change carriers. I don’t see the appeal of buying an outdated phone for a higher price than a top of the line device.
If they had a ‘bring-your-won-phone’ policy it would be way easier to be contempt with them.
