Samsung Galaxy Note X concept – the phablet that will be?

September 16, 2012

The Galaxy Note 2 has been just announced and it’s yet to hit stores anywhere in the world, so it’s definitely too early to think about next year’s Samsung tablet, a future Galaxy Note 3 that the Android maker will surely unveil at some point in the future.

But Concept Phones has an interesting Galaxy Note X mockup – an even bigger phablet, when it comes to screen size – which may as well be a rumor starting point for future Galaxy Note versions.

Created by Erica Yusim, the Galaxy Note X does share several design elements with the current Galaxy Note 2, but sports a much bigger edge-to-edge 6.3-inch display. In addition to images, we also have a list of potential specs and features for such a device – although, again, it’s way too early in the game to dream about the Galaxy Note X.

Here’s what Yusim proposes when designing the Galaxy Note 2:

    • 6.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display with 1080 x 1920 Full HD resolution
    • Size: 161.9 x 84.9 x 8.9
    • Weight: 220g
    • 2.0GHz quad core Cortex-A15 processor
    • 3GB of RAM
    • 32/64/128GB memory
    • 16-meagpixel camera with Auto Focus, LED Flash and BSI
    • 3-megapixel front-facing camera with BSI, Best Photo, Best Faces, Low light shot
    • Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Wi-Fhi Direct
    • Bluetooth 5.0
    • USB 3.0 Host
    • mHL
    • NFC
    • A-GPS, Glonass support
    • 4,000mAh battery
    • Android 5.0

Sure, everything looks great and all on paper, but one does have to wonder when we’ll stop asking for more when it comes to smartphone screen size or internal components. Would such a device get made in the following year, especially considering that at 6.3 inches the Galaxy Note X would compete directly with 7-inch budget tablets? Considering those internal components, the Galaxy Note X would hardly qualify as a budget device.

He can add a visual alert, card slot and removable battery to the list

    • Duh Koda

Pretty bad concept if you ask me. It looks nice, but this has “lawsuit from Apple” written all over it again :

Have Note, want this! And have been wanting this for two years!

    • Heli12345

Hmmmm, I see a flat back. Apple patented anything that’s flat, so let’s see what happens with this.

    • Nyssa

Sounds good, but wouldn’t a 4500mah last longer?

    • LiiIiikEaBau5

      Specs are funny! LOL

    • Tuffcheez

This is how it should have looked on the first place. Pity!

    • I’m Pro Samsung, click here

huh? 6.3? Nah…that’s too much, might as well grab a tablet at that point.

      • Ethan Dickstein

but its a phone also. buying a 3g/4g tablet and installingt google voice is not the smartest thing

      • cutter

so dont buy one while millions of us WILL, PROBLEM SOLVED!!

    • Jose G. Minaya

Android 5.0 o.O lol That says a lot from this phone. (Means it should be for later next year.)

    • ehismanj

      this concept is awesome.

    • ben jobson

wow im a samsung fan but this SCREAMS IPHONE COPY

    • Ted Hall

This concept should be taken with a grain of salt, but lets hope some of these features make it to the Note 3. I for one would LOVE to see a phone the size of the Note 2 with an edge to edge screen (which would be approx 6.3 inches)

    • Aaron Douglas Charlong

      Too big. End of story.

      • cutter

your a pussy end of story

        • Aaron Douglas Charlong

No, just have girl hands lol.

    • Ananias Allaba Jr

If it will come, I will certainly replace my SG S3.

    • Adrian Simion

This is an independent concept, but I love the edge to edge screen. This is one feature that I want to see in future phones

    • Samir Shah

I am fully OK with all the specs. Concentrate on better features with S Pen. One of them is “cursive handwriting recognition” using S Pen. If it proves too difficult to implement you can license it from Microsoft.

    • Abdullah Naji

Cool. But the Note 2 looks better..

    • Yamsen

People have said that if you don’t ask you don’t get, but this is getting ridiculous. You can’t ask for the Eiffel tower and expect to get it, although you might get a small replica maybe. Same thing for the above concept phone, if you ask for the impossible you’ll only set yourself up for disappointing results. I mean come on, I already find the SG Note too big for my front pocket, what makes you think a 6.3″ phablet will be comfortable to carry in your pants?

    • new300new

Can never get too big… Hope this mockup becomes a reality…

    • kiij

      in your dream :)

    • beast

There’s no thing such as bluetooth 5.0 . Atleast at this time. :O

    • SamsaraGuru

Instead of making it so big it becomes a tablet, why not remove the top and bottom bands that have the button and the maker on them; use them as additional screen space and put the buttons on the edges? What would that give – an additional 1/4 or 1/2 inch in length?

    • subbu chandran

      Exciting,i need this one.

    • burhanudeen jalaludeen

      Most definitely YES….

    • Idowu

I understand the saying that bigger is better. But a one point does this becomes a little ridiculous. Before we know phones are going to be the size of a 10.1 tablet. Seeing the “Samsung Note X” I do love the sleek new design.

    • Admanathan Viswanathan

For sure it wont come in market… It will be a concept for ever…. The features watevr mentioned r grt… Y cant these features added to note2……. If yes den its a big milestone in smartphone world

    • fandroid

The sooner the better…Apple screwed up by not having phone capability in the iPad.

    • Rodrigo Freijanes

      My dream.

    • placeholder

that is about as nice as what I flushed down the toiley this morning ;-)

    • sagir

Yes good , it should have both LTE& wimax

    • analia!!

sera buenoo el samsung galaxy note x???? si alguien sabe!

    • John Jukas

Wed 29 Aug is to 2012. The nest Wed 29 Aug is to 2018. Patience….

    • 郭松贤

Too big I think 5.5″is very good camera16megapixel and battery 4000mAh are very well

    • Joshua Martin

I think the concept looks ugly, the materials the concept uses, is nice. Now if this thing only had an IGZO panel powering its display, then the battery life would truly be one of the best in the world on a mobile DEVICE (phone or tablet)
