Rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus first surfaced back in August, but then the device quickly got lost in the crowd. Just when we thought Samsung has shelved the S2 Plus, an AnTuTu benchmark result for the device showed up online last month, revealing its possible 1.4GHz dual-core processor.

The latest report now suggests that the Galaxy S2 Plus is coming out early next year.

According to a Sam Mobile’s tipster, Samsung is set to introduce the Galaxy S2 Plus in Q1 2013, when it will be available in two colors: Chic White and Dark Blue. For reasons unknown, the Chic White variant reportedly will be released on the third week of the new year, while the Dark Blue will be unleashed two weeks later.

Before you get all excited, remember that this is far from being an official confirmation. In fact, all that we know of the S2 Plus’ specs and existence have yet to be confirmed by Sammy. But going by past rumors, the Galaxy S2 Plus may sport a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display. So the phone will be bigger than the Galaxy S3 Mini, but come with less oomph than the Galaxy Premier.

Is there room for another so-so Galaxy S variant in your life?
