It has been difficult to know exactly what to make of HTC recently. The company has been touting success with the One, and is turning decent profits after months of underperforming, but today we learned…
Rogers faces another setback with its Android handsets. Text messages are being sent to owners of the HTC Magic asking them to turn off GPS as the same 911 software glitch that affects the Dream is also present in the Magic. The nature of the glitch is unknown but owners are being instructed to keep the GPS off while HTC prepares a software update. Similar to the Dream, the HTC Magic has been pulled from all sales outlets until a fix can be applied. With both handsets currently not available for sale, Rogers has not commented on how this glitch will effect the limited time upgrade offer which allows HTC Dream owners to upgrade to the Magic for free. Hopefully, Rogers will extend the promotion so eligible Dream owners can still get their new Magic in a timely manner.
