The HTC Rezound is getting the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Unfortunately, it isn’t through official means–but beggars can’t be choosers.

This newest update to Ice Cream Sandwich comes in the shape of the leaked RUU for firmware 3.14.605.5. What’s even better is that you won’t have to wait around until the Android development community figures out a way to root the leak because XDA Developers member scrosler has provided us a rooted package, complete with Busybox, Bash Shell support, Deodex, and more. This means that you can enjoy the firmware as stock, with nothing removed and so many goodies added.

So what is this, the fourth leak? It is just ridiculous that they haven’t pushed an OTA version yet. I remember this phone was marketed as ICS ready. Here we are into the sixth month and still no love from HTC and Verizon. Dont get me wrong, i flashed the first leak, and have been loving ICS since March, but I am waiting for the real thing before “allowing the phone to reach its potential.” I want the backup of stock to be official ICS, and i am tired of wiping my phone to update leaks.

Never-mind, this is the third leak that came out back on the 9th. I assumed this was a new story, but it is just a resurrected one.

**HTC REZOUND will NOT receive ICS update from Verizon. I have spoken with Verizon Wireless and they informed me they have no plans in the future to update HTC Rezound to ICS. Confirmed today again with Two Different Reps.

Exactly, if they have no intentions of upgrading the device, then why have they wasted their time creating 3 roms? The official OTA could drop any day now, the sooner the better.

I work for Verizon and we have no control over software updates. Its the manufacturer. So as of right now we havent been informed of any updates. Doesnt mean that there isnt going to be one.

Question, how long does it take after install to boot into ICS?

I’ve finished everything and I still have the HTC logo on the phone after 15 minutes.

    Have I bricked my phone?

  • BrevardJack

So has anyone done this with Gingerbread s-on? Just like to see some comments on how well it works before I install.

  • Craigrt1

Did this on my phone with Amon RA instead of Clockworks as I needed root on GB 2.3.4 and oneclick wasn’t working, anyway, this worked fine for me. I did have to do a battery pull on first reboot after installing all three, then it came up and said installing and less than 10 minutes all was well. So far everything I’ve tried has been working fine.

I cant say “no” to the update in Hboot without rebooting.

I fucked up badly, I accidentally clicked yes to update, and there was no going back -.-

Maybe I’m missing something in the instructions, but I’m supposed to install Clockwork Mod Recovery, which requires root. I unlocked my bootloader, but I can’t install a new ROM apparently without Clockwork Mod Recovery. What am I doing wrong?
