Really Blue Pixel Google Store

Update: According to the folks at Android Police, the Really Blue Pixel and Pixel XL will be coming to other regions at a later time. Specific regions and availability details weren’t given in the report.

Original post: So, by now you’re aware that Google has taken the wraps off the new Pixel and Pixel XL. Not only do they sport top-of-the-line specs, they’re pretty attractive little devices, too.

Part of the reason the Pixel and Pixel XL are so aesthetically pleasing are the color options. They’re available in Very Silver, Quite Black and a limited-edition Really Blue. Unfortunately, the Really Blue color option is much more limited than we thought.

According to Google UK on Twitter, the Pixel and Pixel XL in Really Blue are exclusive to the United States.

I guess all other folks looking to buy these new devices will have to settle for the Very Silver or Quite Black colors. Did you have your hopes set on the Really Blue color? Tell us what you think in the comments.

    that blue hurts my eyes.

  • libra89

I think this kind of sucks, even though I live in the US. Having only white and black as options really make it just like any other phone. lol.

  • Juniors234

Love that blue!!!Its out of stock already though. :(

  • HXRRY .

That color really makes the iPhone pop. Wait…what?

  • Grant Ding

Nice… I still like coral blue from Samsung.

  • blueghost211

Blue with the white front? Why Google?

  • hausmanis

fuckin pro USA company, why not a worldwide release ?

    • mogelijk

They seem to be rotating countries with special colors at release. Last year, with the Nexus 6P, Japan was the only country that got the Gold colored 6P. Perhaps next year it will be Europe’s turn.

    • Patrick Rhodes

      don’t cry.

  • Ethan Campbell

I wanted a blue pixelixel. I’m Canadian. I know! AA Sunday Giveaway!

    • Shane Anderson

hahaha. id be hapoier with the black. I was never into weird color phones.. black and silver are more than satisfying for a launch . if it proves sucessful they may release more colors

  • cfischer69

    And already out of stock

  • John

This bullshit – really wanted the blue. Romania/Europe

    • RR

Romania? I thought my flag is blue, yellow, red. Europe I can see…

  • John

I think this should have been their primarly colour and in this way, besides specs they could have attract new customers, with something new & different and this colour could have been their signature on the future phones. I like brands that offer something original and stick with their way ( like LG did with G flex and V10 and now they got stupid with the V20 making it iphonish with round edges )

  • Wanted the Pixel XL in blue, but also wanted 128GB. Got the silver one instead.

Really Blue looks Really Stupid with the white Face bezel this whole pixel project is simply awful.

Any colors exclusive to a region is just bad marketing – no matter the region or the color, someone is going to feel left out or cheated, and it results in the company looking bad and getting negative publicity as a result. Samsung did the same in reverse (white S7s were not available within the USA at launch), so it’s not Google who owns the rights to this idiotic move, they’re just the latest to do it.

I can understand giving a particular retailer or a particular carrier a color exclusive within a region – but making colors completely unavailable in some (or, in this case, most) regions at launch is just a bad marketing move. Giving Verizon an exclusive on blue within the USA region should only prevent other sources of the blue models within the USA; it shouldn’t prevent blue being available in other regions where Verizon isn’t even a player. Hopefully Google is in negotiations with some retailers or carriers to introduce blue into other regions post-launch. We can only hope.

  • Bill3

Only interested in the blue. I guess I’ll keep my £800 in my pocket and soldier on with my Nexus 6P. Really, really stupid to make the blue a limited edition. Only likely to disappoint people, and that’s never clever marketing.

Google… Where’s my: 1) S Health App, 2) S Pen writing device for phone and watch, 3) Uber-Superspeed 256 gig SD card slot, 4) Wireless Fast Charge, 5) Leather Folio Cover w Always On Window, 6) Wireless Cordless Bluetooth InEar Sound/Phone Buds, 7) Removable 10,000 mAh Battery,  8) Waterproof to 150 feet, 9) Smartphone/Watch waterproof for swimming and diving, etc. These are all things I expected from a Google Pixel flagship smartphone suite of devices released all at the same time. All these features available today, it’s just bad Google marketing & management.

    • Cojo Vlad

Why would Google use Samsung`s apps?
Yes it`s lacking a mSD slot
You can always buy bluetooth heaphones
      7) literally what the fuck
      8) it`s a phone not an U-boat

  • Duncan Whitley

i dont like how the front of the blue one is white so i didnt really want it … im really annoyed they didnt use gorilla glass 5 actually … for the price they should have the newest everything

  • J_Grouchy

I would only buy a phone that color if it were $150 and I was giving it to my six-year old son.

    • M3D1T8R

Agree with the white front, looks like a toy. If it had a normal black front it would look fantastic.

  • ibenzawla

I don’t even like the blue. Because limited?

  • NoNotThatOne

    So ugly

  • M3D1T8R

    The blue looks great.
Then they decided to ruin it with the hideous white front.

How long until the article showing how to combine two pixels, black version front with the blue versions back.

  • Bay_Ranger

Blue is limited to the 32 GB model.

    • M3D1T8R

Wow! Really. Double fail here Google. White front and only 32GB.

      • Nathan Hubbard

Well, If you wanted that ugly blue phone, you probably don’t know about GB’s and such.

  • Kitty K

I’ll be honest here (sorry all the haters) no matter what colour they paint it its still a bloody ugly phone. i know thats personal taste but everyone im speaking to about it all agrees. tbf the uk market and us market are different no matter what people say. we dont have the Blu or many other brands. we have sony, samsung, lg, htc and thats pretty much it. try and find the v10 with any network and its not there… it infuriates me that half the phones AA reports on i cant get unless i buy from abroad (which is always a risk) even the 6p wasnt on networks and the p9plus was an online only deal with one carrier… grrrrrr

    • Nigel

Ya. it ticks me off that the 3 buttons on the bottom have to be built onto the screen. WTH man. So stupid.

  • pascal okorie

    I love the blue.

  • shima

Limited edition Blue , it all makes sense. why the face is white. they couldnt be bothered to make blue faces to.

  • Neilson G

As a non-US resident of the world. Fuck you google. Duck duck go on Firefox on an Ipad guys, cmon, fight the power!

  • hotphil

Google going “full Microsoft” then with the US-only crap.

I get the reasons behind certain Google services (Voice, Pay, Fi etc) being US-only, but locking down hardware colours (yes, with a “u”) really isn’t going to help. And they’re gonna need all the help they can get to shift these.

  • noh1bvisas

the blue gets my vote for fugliest phone of 2016.

  • Patrick Rhodes

Way to go everyone, for overreacting to yet another false report by the press.

  • b35t

It’s true-blue ugly. What’s with the blue back and white front combination?? But I guess aesthetic doesn’t matter here.

  • Gorilla Guard_25

Even more annoying is that, besides Germany, people only get the chance of buying this phone trough the official Google store, no other local retailers herer ever get that chance. And if its released, it will take over 3 months to be purchasable, which is blatantly pathetic and annoying…

And you cant make an issurance on these phones.

Verizon is exclusive carrier for now, however Best Buy and several others will be carrying unlocked.

  • Bay_Ranger

…and the blue is limited to the 32GB version, at least for now. Fail.

  • Kunal Narang

The quite black is actually much better than the Really Blue.

  • John Doe

The Pixel XL is available in Canada as it shows up on the Telus Phone Store.. but Yes, No Blue version
