Do you remember being a kid, just bursting with questions? “Why is the sky blue?” “Why is water clear?” “How do airplanes stay in the sky?” I was so full of questions that it annoyed my parents.

Sure, we can be fed answers through a number of media — our school teachers, Google, Wikipedia — but are these answers the right ones? Sometimes, you might have a question that no one can easily answer. Maybe because no one’s put the information up on the Internet yet or because people have never asked that question. Regardless of the reason, if you have a question, you deserve an answer.

Today we’ll be looking at an app that connects you to everything you need to know about. The Quora website calls itself “the place to write new content and share content from the web.” When you have a question you need an answer to, Quora delivers you answers from people who know their stuff and are interested in the same things as you. These people can be doctors, economists, screenwriters, police officers, and a whole lot more. That means accurate answers so that your question can be the best resource for anyone else wondering about the same things.

Now that Quora’s released an app for Android, you can ask questions and get answers any time, anywhere. You can log in using your Facebook or Twitter account. Choose topics you’re interested in — from your hometown, to your alma mater, to the different schools of thought in psychology and in philosophy, and a whole lot more.

When you’re done following topics you’re interested in, you’re shown Quora’s neat and crisp user interface of neutral colors, red, dark blue, and black. You’ll notice that not a single ad is on the UI, which means you can focus all your attention to the tabs located at the top of the screen.

The Home tab is where you can see all the latest answers and questions added to the topics you’re following. Swipe to the left and you can access your Notifs. Browse lets you see the Trending Topics, Suggested People to Follow and Boards.

At the very bottom is the Shuffle button. You can choose to shuffle through answers or questions, which is a great way to discover new information. Last but not the least, you’ have your Profile tab where you can see your Inbox, Latest Activity, and Stats such as the number of people you’re Following and the Topics you’re interested in.

To start getting answers, tap on the magnifying glass in the upper right corner of the screen to bring up the search box. Type in a keyword, which brings up topics you might like or questions that might be the same ones you’re asking. If you find the question you want an answer to, tap on it. You can view the question, a little explanation or clarification from the poster, and the answers below. Tap on an answer and you can leave a comment, as well as view other peoples’ comments.

A quick look around Quora will show you that questions can range from serious ones, such as “Do billionaires get offended when they appear on public billionaire lists?” to hilarious ones such as “What are the wittiest, nastiest things I can say to my ex (whom I hate) while still being in polite company?” Some of the answers these questions have received can be extremely informative while others can be downright hilarious.
