Purple Motorola Droid Razr gets a Launch Date

January 20, 2012

During CES, with the mass of phones that were announced Motorola also announced a new color for their Droid Razr. It would be coming purple. If your lady-friend or significant other is pressuring you to buy this one for her, just tell her to wait until January 23rd. That’s right Motorola and Verizon will be launching this thin beast in purple on Monday.

The purple Droid Razr has all the specs and features as the original Droid Razr, only difference is it is in purple. Next question is when is it getting Ice Cream Sandwich?

Who’s going to wait in line and pick this one up? Let us know in the comments. I think it looks pretty nice, unlike the white versions of a lot of these phones. Full press release below.

What’s the point of getting an update to ICS? Without NFC, the Android Beam and a host of other tap/epayment services will not be made use of! Nice device, but as usual, obsoleted even before it left the factory!

Honestly that is how technology works :)

That’s one (1) ICS feature the RAZR can’t use – unless someone comes out with a combined NFC/16Gb SD card. What about the ICS UI? Hardware acceleration? Lots of goodies in ICS that the RAZR can use.

If only this thing came with an HD display. I’ve got a D2 and love it, but the Razr would have been more tempting with a better display.
    Still a beast though!
