If you’re in a dire need of a new and challenging puzzle game to give your brain some much-need workout, check out the rather unusual PUK on Google Play, which has just been released by developer Laser Dog. You won’t find any cutesy birds or pigs here, as it’s all about the gameplay. PUK may have taken the “gameplay over graphics” concept a bit too far, but we actually find it quite refreshing.

All you have to do is shoot pucks at various circle targets – or portals, as per the description – until they obliterate, which will take a couple of hits. You’ll have to master some slingshot technique to go far in the game. And as you’d expect, there’ll also be plenty of obstacles. That’s about all.

Don’t let the seemingly simple gameplay and graphics fool you, as some of the levels can get frustratingly hard – especially since you’ll be racing against time as well. That’s part of the game’s frantic charm.

PUK features 1000 unique levels that will be randomly generated. Still, the same levels might pop up every now and then. It’s not that big of a deal though, seeing that your main goal is to complete as many levels as possible in one go.

If you’re interested, the fast-paced game only costs $1 on Google Play. Check out the trailer for the puzzle game below.
