these are definitely legit docs. Android Police have the official documents from Qualcomm and the post has now been deleted due to confidential information going out to the public via blogs. Ill be surprised if you yourselves dont get an email requesting you to remove this post.

  • FYI: Android Police was just asked to remove these documents. These are legit.

    • We were asked to remove them too :( And the 2.3GHz quad-core processor that they’ve got coming. So they are definitely legit.

Leaked Qualcomm document shows Android Key Lime Pie coming in Spring 2013

    by Joe Hindy

Well Blackberry 10 was announced today, but it appears as though Android will rain on their parade. We all know that Android Key Lime Pie is coming and it’s going to be an exciting release. Android has been getting progressively better and 4.2 Jelly Bean was widely hailed as the greatest Android yet. So Key Lime Pie has some mighty big shoes to fill. As it turns out, we may not have to wait much longer to see.

Android Police reports that some leaked internal documents from Qualcomm confirm that Key Lime Pie is coming in Spring of 2013. The document shown above refers to the release as the K-Release, set for Spring. This is interesting because it appears it was either made before it was given the name Key Lime Pie or shows that the name hasn’t been finalized yet.

The image below is also pretty interesting because it refers to it directly as Key Lime Pie. Perhaps the first one was done before the official naming while the second was create afterward. This one shows that two Qualcomm devices will be running Key Lime Pie by the end of Q2 2013.

So is the Key Lime Pie release really that surprising?

While it’s great to see some documents that seem to confirm this, it really shouldn’t be all that shocking. Google I/O occurs during Q2 2013. So it’s no surprise to see that these documents mention Key Lime Pie around the same time as the search giant’s biggest event of the year. So everything seems to be wrapped up in a nice little bow.

As with all information like this, there is a disclaimer. These are leaked documents and could have easily been faked. It does make perfect sense that Key Lime Pie will be announced at Google I/O 2013 and that companies like Qualcomm are planning for it in advance. However, as with any leaked documents, photos, or other info, it is what it is, a leak.

So what is everyone’s reaction? Has these Qualcomm documents all but confirmed Key Lime Pie for Q2 of this year, or is there still some doubt as to when the next version of Android is coming?
