Shiftyjelly Pocket Casts v4.5 new UI

Shiftyjelly’s Pocket Casts app has updated to version 4.5. The update includes tons of enhancements, a new user interface, and best of all, Chromecast support.

Pocket Casts is a podcast catcher and player, designed to curate all of your favorite podcasts into a single location. It allows you to stream or download podcasts as video or audio, syncs your progress across devices, allows for playback at variable speeds and so much more. We’ve mentioned Pocket Casts before, highlighting it as a must have app for people serious about podcasts.

The new Pocket Casts UI has updated to current Android design standards, with a focus on color. The most notable color enhancement is that elements of the player change colors automatically to match the colors of the podcast artwork.

Functionality improvements include an Up Next playlist, which allows you to view and re-arrange upcoming podcasts, Chromecast support and tons of other little tweaks and enhancements. Chromecast enabled apps have been popping up almost daily since Google released the Chromecast SDK last month. Pocket Casts with Chromecast makes it super easy to watch your favorite podcast on your TV.

Pocket Casts is $3.99 in the Google Play Store.

Podcast aficionados, when you are done playing with the ability to cast podcasts to your TV, stop back in and let us know how you like the new upgrade.
